Hello Folks, 

First thing, thank you to everyone who came out to the FOP Lodge 18 Ball last weekend. The food, people and atmosphere is always so great and the dancing is always so--adequate. Cops aren't real loose in the hips turns out, something about gun belts. But still, it was certifiably a hoot. 

We are putting together the final numbers for the money we raised. Thank you to all who graciously bought raffle tickets and bid on items and congrats to those who went home with prizes. Condolences to those who went home with images of their esteemed co-workers dance moves etched in thier minds. 

In other news we got word that the Washington State Lodge took out an accidental death benefit for all WA FOP members, at no cost to the membership. They are calling all members to help verify that benefit and beneficiaries. If you get a call from someone claiming to be FOP talking about a death benefit it is legitimate. I just got called and spoke to Simeon. If they can't get you on the phone they will text as well. From what it sounds like the base benefit is free to the member, it's included in your annual dues, but if you want to purchase additional benefits you can. The State's trying to look out for our families should the worst happen, which I appreciate.
